Heera Indu Infrastructure Private Ltd. operates out of the Hotel Heera Palace on Station Road. It’s a bit of a strange place for an office, but it’s actually quite handy being so close to the station. We have a couple of rooms converted into a workspace with desks, computers, and a lot of rolled-up blueprints lying around. You can hear the trains pulling in and out all day long, which took some getting used to at first. We work on various infrastructure projects, so there is always talk about cement, steel, and timelines. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of employees. It is just a small, dedicated team trying to keep track of different sites. Sometimes the engineers come in covered in dust from a project and we have to make sure they don't sit on the good chairs. The lobby of the hotel is always busy with guests, so it feels quite energetic. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp, especially when we have to go through those long technical documents. The walls are a bit thin, so we can hear the television from the next room sometimes. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just try to get the planning right so that the actual building work goes smoothly. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking maps, but we enjoy the challenge of it all.
