Gajanan Marbles

Gajanan Marbles is situated at Plot No. 15 in Sitai Nagar, right off the Shahada Road in Taloda. It’s a good spot because the road is wide enough for the big lorries to come in and out without too much trouble. We have a fairly large plot where we keep all the marble and granite stock. Most of the time, you can find us walking around the yard with a clipboard or helping someone load their trolley. It’s a practical environment. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture, just the stone and the tools we use to handle it. Taloda gets pretty warm, so we try to get the heaviest work done early in the morning before the sun is directly overhead. People from all over Sitai Nagar come by when they are building something new. We just give them the prices and show them what the different slabs look like once they are wet, so they know the real color. There’s no pressure here. We understand that picking out stone for a house is a big deal, so we just let people take their time. The sound of the Shahada Road is always there, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. It’s just us, the stone, and the daily routine of running a yard in a small town. It keeps us busy and out of trouble.
