If you are looking for us in Nakoda, we are at number 27, Matoshri, which is right across from Mahatma Phule School. It is a noisy spot when the school lets out, but we are used to it by now. Essar Construction (I) Ltd has its roots here in Maharashtra, and we have been handling local building tasks for quite a while. Our office is more like a workshop sometimes, with blueprints spread out over every flat surface. We handle the usual construction struggles like finding reliable labor and making sure the materials are up to the right standard. It is a messy job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. There is no corporate ladder here, just people who know how to work with their hands. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. Most of the time, we are just arguing with vendors about the price of gravel or checking if the crane showed up on time. The school kids across the street probably think we just stand around and talk, but there is a lot of planning that goes into every wall we put up. We have had some tough jobs and some easy ones, but they all require the same amount of attention. It is just regular people trying to do a decent job in our corner of Nakoda.
