Dr. Ramesh Uttam Patil, Girivihar, Nandurbar

In Girivihar, over at 102 Housing Society, Dr. Ramesh Uttam Patil has been seeing people for quite some time. The housing society is a big complex, so there are always people moving about in the hallways or the courtyard. Our clinic is just one of the units, converted into a space for patients to come and visit. It has a very domestic feel to it, not like those big glass buildings in the city center. We have a small waiting area with some older magazines and a water cooler in the corner. The doctor’s office has a big window that looks out onto the street, so you can see who is coming and going. Most of our day is spent listening to people talk about their aches and pains. We keep a simple ledger to track the appointments, though many people just walk in when they need something. The flooring is basic linoleum, and we have a few potted plants near the entrance that we sometimes forget to water. Nandurbar is home to us, and being in Girivihar feels like being part of a big family. People from the other apartments often pop their heads in just to say hello. It is a low-key environment where we try to keep things as relaxed as possible for everyone who walks through the door at number 102. It is just our corner of the housing society where we do our daily work.
