Aashish Ply & Interior Fittings

I'm up here on the second floor of Kothari Complex in Shivaji Nagar. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for the sign. We mostly deal with plywood and those little metal bits for cabinets. The shop is filled with various boards and handles. You’ll see stacks of laminate samples everywhere. I spend a lot of time helping guys pick out the right hinges or drawer slides. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights. Most days it’s just me and a helper moving heavy sheets around. It gets quite dusty, so we try to sweep up when we can. People from around the neighborhood stop in when they’re fixing up a kitchen or building a new cupboard. Sometimes the elevators in the complex are slow, so we end up waiting a bit. We carry a good range of different ply thicknesses, from thin backing boards to the thick stuff for beds. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with all the hardware boxes piled up, but we know where everything is. If you need a specific type of handle, we probably have it in a drawer somewhere. We don't do the big advertising thing. Usually, people just find us by word of mouth or seeing the shop while they're in the building. It’s just a regular shop where we try to get you the parts you need for your furniture projects without any fuss.
