Shagun Masale

We’ve been here at Sanjay Apartment for a while now. Most people know us because we are right on Maqbara Road in the Begumpura area. If you’re heading towards the Mini Taj Mahal or Bibi Ka Maqbara, you’ll see our shop at No. 1. Shagun Masale is just a small place where we keep all sorts of spices people need for their daily cooking. It gets quite busy around here with tourists and locals passing by constantly. Dealing with masalas is what we do every day. The shop isn’t huge but we try to keep the shelves stocked up. Sometimes the smell of the ground spices is so strong you can notice it from the street before you even step inside. We open up early and stay till evening. It’s a bit dusty outside because of the traffic near the monument, but we keep things moving inside. If you live around Begumpura, you probably walk past us all the time. My family handles most of the work here. We know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers on this stretch. It’s not a fancy setup, just a regular counter and rows of packets. We don't have a big website or anything like that. People just come in, ask for what they want, and we weigh it out or hand over the pack. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it works for us and the people around here. We hope to stay here for many more years.
