I run Raj Provision on Aamdar Road here in Aurangabad. The shop is in the Satara Parisar area, specifically near the Ranjeet Nagar High Court Colony. It is a busy part of the city, and having a provision store here means I am always on my feet. I handle all the basic food items people need, like wheat flour, different kinds of oils, and spices. The shop is not very large, so I have to use every inch of wall space for shelving. It gets a bit cramped when two or three people come in at the same time. I do not have a computer or any fancy billing system; I just use a notebook and a pen to keep track of things. My hands are usually a bit dusty from handling the grain sacks. The road outside can get quite noisy with bikes and cars going toward the High Court Colony. I have lived in Maharashtra all my life, and running this shop in Aurangabad feels like home. I know which customers like which brand of tea and who always asks for a discount. It is not about being the biggest store, it is just about being there when someone realizes they ran out of sugar in the middle of cooking dinner. I spend my afternoons restacking the jars and making sure nothing is past its date. It is hard work, but it is honest work, and it keeps me connected to the people on Aamdar Road.
