If you spend any time at the Seri Chowk bus stand, you’ve probably walked past our door at No. 399. It’s a noisy part of town, with the buses constantly pulling in and out and people shouting for their stops. We’ve been here for a while, and the shop has become a bit of a regular spot for people waiting for their ride. We sell various things and handle different bits of business depending on what people are looking for that day. The shelves are usually pretty full, and it can look a bit cluttered if you’re used to those fancy supermarkets, but we know where everything is. My family has been involved in this for years, so it feels more like a second home than a shop. We don’t have a fancy website or anything, we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customers to arrive. Sometimes it’s just locals coming in to chat about the news, and other times it’s travelers who are just passing through and need something quick. The floors are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic, but that’s just how it goes when you’re in a busy spot like this. It’s a simple life, keeping the stock updated and making sure we treat people fairly when they come in. There’s always a bit of dust from the road, but we try to keep things tidy enough for the neighbors.
