MARATHWADA NED MAHILA URBAN NIDHI

We are based out of House Number 5/550 in Tamsa, which is a smaller place in the Nanded district. Being out here means we know almost everyone who walks through the door. This is a Mahila Nidhi, so our main focus is on the women in and around Tamsa. It’s not a large operation. We have a few desks, some chairs, and a lot of registers. We spend our days collecting small deposits and helping members with their accounts. It’s a practical way for the local women to save up for things like farming equipment or household needs. We don't use any fancy financial jargon here. We just explain things in plain Marathi or English so everyone knows where they stand. Sometimes it takes a little longer to explain the rules to a new member, but we don't mind. We aren't in a rush. Tamsa is a tight-knit community, and we treat our members like neighbors because they actually are our neighbors. There aren't any glossy brochures or sales pitches. People just come in when they have a few extra rupees to put away. It’s a modest way to run things, but it works for the people living in this part of Nanded. We just want to keep things stable and helpful for the women who rely on us for their savings.
