Loknete Gopinathji Munde Foundation

Our foundation is located at House Number 456 in Nimbodi. It’s a quiet place, quite different from the big cities like Pune or Mumbai. Loknete Gopinathji Munde Foundation is something we started right here because we wanted to have a local base for our activities. The building is just a regular house that we’ve adapted to use for our meetings and work. It isn't very modern, but it’s sturdy and it serves its purpose for us. People from around the Taluka stop by quite often just to chat or ask about what we are doing. We don't have a big staff, it’s mostly just family and friends who help out when they have the time. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait it out, but that’s just part of life here. We don't have a fancy website or anyone to do our public relations. We just tell people who we are when they come to the door. Most of our work is done face-to-face. We spend a lot of time walking around the village or meeting people at their homes. It’s a slower pace of life, but we like it that way. The foundation is just a way for us to keep things moving forward for the community. It’s simple work, really. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of things as best as we can without making too much noise.
