You can find Dhanraksha Urban Nidhi Limited over at Mohan Tanda in Admalwadi. We're based at the home of Shivaji Chavan's son. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from around Nanded, but the locals here know the way. It’s a small operation in this part of Maharashtra. We don't have many employees, just a few of us making sure all the books are balanced correctly. The office is very basic. We have a couple of old tables and chairs where we sit with anyone who comes in. We deal with the Nidhi accounts for the folks living in the Tanda. It’s a lot of manual work, writing things down in big registers and checking them twice. The dust can get in during the dry season, so we’re always dusting off the ledgers. We don't use big words or have any complicated rules. People come to us because they know the family. It’s all about being part of the Admalwadi community. We try to keep everything simple. If someone has a question about their money, they just walk in and ask us directly. We don't have a fancy website or any of that. Just the physical office here in the village. It’s quiet most of the time, except when the sun starts to go down and people finish their work in the fields. Then they stop by to chat or drop off some cash for their savings. We just keep our heads down and work.
