Raja Store

If you’re driving along the Salem Bypass Road near Periyakulathupalayam, you’ll see Raja Store at number 92. It’s a basic shop, nothing too flashy or modern. We’ve got the usual stuff people need on their way home like snacks, cold drinks, and daily kitchen essentials. My father started this place years ago, and now I’m the one mostly looking after the daily stuff. It’s a good location because of the bypass, so we get a mix of local neighbors and people just passing through on long trips. The traffic can be quite loud, but we’ve grown used to the constant sound of trucks and cars zooming by. We keep the doors open from early in the morning until late in the evening every day. Sometimes the shelves get a bit dusty because of all the vehicles on the road, so we’re always wiping things down when we have a spare moment. We don’t have a big staff here, just me and a cousin who helps out when it gets busy. We like to chat with the regulars who stop in for their daily items. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy and connected to the town. We don’t bother with big sales or fancy window displays. People know we’re here and they know exactly what we have in stock. Sometimes we run out of specific things, and we just tell people to come back tomorrow morning. It’s a small, honest shop that serves the local folks.
