New Columbu Departmental Stores

New Columbu Departmental Stores is located at No 52/1 on TNPL Road in Velayuthampalayam. It is a typical local store where we try to keep a bit of everything on hand. The TNPL Road is a main stretch, so we get a lot of people stopping by while they are on their way somewhere else. We spend a lot of time just restocking the shelves and checking the expiration dates on the milk and bread. The store is not very modern. We have basic wooden shelving and some old refrigerators that hum quite loudly in the back. It is a family-run kind of atmosphere, and we do not have any formal uniforms or anything like that. We just wear whatever is comfortable for moving boxes around. Velayuthampalayam is a small enough place that we know most of the people who walk through the door. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy, especially when the school kids come in after class and move things around. We just tidy up and keep going. The floor is made of smooth stone that we mop every evening after we close the shutters. It is just a regular shop where we sell soap, snacks, and household items. There is nothing special about the layout, but it is functional. We just try to make sure we have what people ask for when they come in looking for their daily groceries.
