If you head down Namakkal Main Road, you’ll find us easily enough in Kumaramangalam. Maha Arjun Textiles has been a part of the local scenery for quite some time. The shop is right on the main stretch, so we see a lot of traffic passing by Tiruchengode. It’s noisy sometimes with the trucks, but we’re used to it. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of fabric and the smell of new cloth. We spend most of our time sorting through inventory or helping people who walk in looking for something specific. It isn't a high-end boutique. It’s more of a practical place where people come when they need reliable materials. We have a few long-term staff who know where everything is kept, even when things get messy during the busy season. Sometimes the power goes out and we just keep working by the door light. That’s just part of running a business here. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. Word of mouth usually brings people in from the surrounding villages. It’s a busy life, especially during festival times when everyone wants something new. We just try to keep the shelves stocked and the prices fair for the neighbors. There is always a lot of folding to do at the end of the day, but that is how it goes. Sometimes we get a bit tired, but seeing a regular customer smile makes it worth the effort of keeping everything organized.
