Sundeep Handlooms

Our small business, Sundeep Handlooms, is located right in Yellanki Village. We are at house number 5/56/2. It’s a quiet place compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. Most of what we do involves traditional weaving and managing the looms. You can hear the rhythmic sound of the machines clicking and clacking throughout the day. It’s a sound we have grown very used to. The space is filled with threads of all different colors and piles of finished cloth waiting to be sent out. We don't have a storefront with big glass windows. It's more of a workshop where people can drop in if they know we are here. Most of our work is done by hand or with simple tools. It’s a slow process, and you can’t really rush it if you want it to look right. There are just a few of us working here, often members of the same family or neighbors from the village. We talk while we work, mostly about local news or what’s happening with the crops. We don't have a website or do any big advertising. People just find us because they know how the work we do looks when it's finished. It’s a simple life, focused on the craft and making sure each piece is done properly. We start early in the morning when it’s still cool and wrap things up as the light starts to fade in the evening. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when the work is done, just watching the village go by.
