Shanthi Dandu

We live and work at H. No. 3-88 in Kanchanapally and it is a very modest setup we have here. I am Shanthi and this is just my small business that I run from our home. We deal with whatever is needed in our part of the district. Sometimes it is helping with local supplies or managing small bits of trade between the neighbors. The house has a big porch where we sit and do most of our work during the day. It is nice because we can see everyone who passes by on the main street. Kanchanapally is not a very big place so everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We don't have any polished signs or marketing things because we don't really need them. My husband helps me with the heavy stuff and the kids help when they are home from their studies. We have a small dog that barks at the mailman every single time he comes. It’s just a normal family life that also happens to be a business. We don't have a computer so we use a big ledger book to keep track of everything we do. Sometimes the ink leaks on my fingers but it’s okay. We just want to do a good job and stay friendly with everyone in the village. It’s a peaceful way to live and we are happy with how things are going for now.
