Saritha Cattle Rearing

Living out here in Marribavi Thanda, near Vayilla Palle, our lives pretty much revolve around the animals. We have a small herd that we look after every single day, no matter if it is raining or really hot. The day starts very early, usually before the sun is even up, because the cows need to be milked and fed. It is a lot of physical work, cleaning out the sheds and bringing in fresh hay or green grass for them to eat. We don't have any big corporate office or anything like that; our work is done in the fields and the stalls. The air out here is different than in the city, and while it is quiet, there is always something that needs to be fixed or checked. Sometimes an animal gets sick and we have to stay up late watching over it. We sell the milk and manage the calves as they grow. It is not the kind of job where you can just take a holiday whenever you want. The cows don't know it’s a Sunday. We just keep to ourselves mostly, working with our hands and making sure the livestock is healthy and well-fed. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy from morning until night. People in the village know us, and we just focus on doing things the way they have always been done around here without any fuss or complications.
