We’ve been working out of Narketpally for a while now, right near the Ammanabole X Road. It is a busy spot, mostly because of the traffic coming through Nalgonda all day. Our office is simple, just a place to keep the files and talk to people about the work we do. Most days involve being out on the sites rather than sitting behind a desk. It gets pretty hot around here in the summer, but we just get on with it. The crew is mostly locals from the village and surrounding mandals. We spend a lot of time checking on supplies and making sure the trucks arrive on time, which is harder than it sounds with the road work going on. People usually find us by looking for the crossroad market area. It’s not a fancy setup, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. There is always some dust from the construction around us, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We aren’t doing anything revolutionary, just building things that people need in this part of Telangana. It’s a lot of physical labor and managing schedules that never quite stay on track. We've got a small team here at Ratnamala, and we mostly just try to do a decent job without too much fuss or complications.
