Pooja Handloom Textile Industry

Down here in Bommaipally village, things move a little slower than in the big cities. We are located at Plot No. 44 and 45, right in the Padmalaya Gardens area. It’s a nice enough spot in the Bhongir mandal. Being in the textile industry means there’s always a lot of thread and fabric around. You can hear the sounds of the work going on throughout the day. Nalgonda district has a lot of history with this kind of stuff, so we’re just another part of that local scene. The workspace is large enough to hold the equipment we need. We spend our hours watching the looms and making sure the threads don't tangle up. It’s repetitive, but it’s what we know. Sometimes we have visitors from the village or people traveling through Telangana who stop by to see what’s going on at the gardens. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us and the machines. The weather out here can get really dry, which affects how we handle the materials, so we have to pay attention to that. Most of the people working here live nearby, so it feels like a neighborhood thing. We just show up, do the weaving, and make sure the stacks of cloth are ready when they need to be.
