Navadurga Cottage Industries

Navadurga Cottage Industries is situated at 3-78/1 in Kotha Colony, which is part of Ikkurthi Village. We are way out in Aleru Mandal, so it’s a pretty long way from the big city noise of Nalgonda. Being in a place like Telangana, the summers are really hot, and our workspace gets quite warm during the middle of the day. We do a lot of our heavy work in the morning hours when it is still a bit cool outside. The building itself isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can set up our equipment and get to work. We have different materials stacked up around the room, and sometimes it feels like we are running out of space, but we manage to make it work. Living and working in Ikkurthi Village means we see the same people every day, which is nice. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the land and the people well. Kotha Colony is a small community, and we try to stay out of everyone’s way while we are doing our production. It takes a lot of patience to make things by hand or with small machines, but that is just the way we have always done it here. We don't spend much time on the computer or phones; we are usually too busy with the actual work at the benches.
