Venkateshwara Cotton Industries

Venkateshwara Cotton Industries is located right on the Main Road at Nasarlla Pally. You can find us at Suvery No 50/51. It’s a busy spot especially when the harvest starts coming in. We have a lot of tractors pulling in and out all day long. The yard gets pretty crowded with trailers full of raw cotton waiting to be unloaded. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot, though by noon the shed feels like an oven. There are about ten of us working here most days. We spend a lot of time cleaning the ginning machines because they get clogged with seeds and debris. It’s a messy job and you end up with white lint in your hair by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small room with a desk and a couple of plastic chairs for when farmers come by to talk. The main road stays noisy with trucks going past, but we’re used to it. Sometimes the rain messes up our schedule and we have to cover everything with big blue tarps really fast. It's just the way things go in this business. We’ve been at this location for years and the neighbors know us by the sound of the blowers. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here in the village.
