Varalakshmi Cottons is out here in Chowdampally Village. If you are driving through Narketpally Mandal, you will find us at survey numbers 157, 159, and 160. It is a big space because cotton takes up a lot of room. We have been doing this for a while now. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. It gets hot in the sheds, but that is just how the work goes. We handle a lot of raw material coming from the local farmers around the area. Some days are busier than others depending on the harvest. There is usually a line of trucks waiting outside. The office isn't anything fancy, just a place to keep the books and take a seat. We do not have big signs or anything. People who need to find us usually know the way. The machines make a lot of noise throughout the day. You get used to it after a few weeks. We have a small group of people who have worked here for years. We know each other's families and what is happening in the village. It is not a corporate setup with meetings and all that. We just focus on getting the cotton processed and moved out to where it needs to go next. Sometimes the rain slows things down, but we just wait it out. It is a simple way to make a living, even if it is a bit dusty most of the time.
