M/S The India Cements Limited, Vishnupuram

Our place is located out in the ICL Colony at Vishnupuram. It’s part of the Damarcherla Mandal in Nalgonda, and the exact address is Md 24. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city, but that’s where the plant is, so it makes sense for us to be right here. Living and working in the colony means we all see each other pretty much every day. It’s a quiet enough area in Andhra Pradesh, except for when the machines are really going. We keep things simple at the India Cements office. There’s a lot of dust sometimes, but that’s part of the deal when you work with cement. We have our routines, getting in early and finishing up whenever the work allows. It’s a tight community here. Most of the people who work here also live just a few minutes away. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure the cement gets produced and sent out where it needs to go. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, or the power goes out, but we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a plain office with desks and chairs and a lot of filing cabinets. We don't have any fancy stuff on the walls. It’s just a workspace for the team to do their jobs. It’s been this way for a long time, and we’re quite used to the pace of life here in Nalgonda. We don't bother with much else besides the daily tasks and getting the trucks loaded.
