Lohitha Hospital and the diagnostic center are located inside the Cpm Complex. We are right near the Subhash statue, so most people in the area use that as a landmark when they are coming for a blood test or a checkup. The complex itself is always full of activity. I've worked here for a while and the routine is pretty much the same every morning. We open the doors, get the lab machines warmed up, and start taking samples. It’s a hospital too, so we have rooms for patients who need to stay longer. It’s not one of those massive corporate hospitals you see in the movies. It’s a bit more down-to-earth than that. The hallways are narrow and we have to be careful moving equipment around. Sometimes the diagnostic side gets really backed up, especially on Monday mornings when everyone wants their results. We try to be quick but these things take time if you want them done right. The staff here is mostly local people. We know the shortcuts around the Cpm Complex and where to get the best tea nearby during our breaks. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just run the tests, show the results to the doctors, and help the patients who come through the door. It’s a busy life but it feels good to be part of the community near the statue.
