Laxmi Tent House is located at Mig 46 in the Housing Board Colony on Munugode Road. It’s a residential-feeling area, so it’s usually pretty quiet until we start loading the trucks. We’ve got poles, fabric, and chairs stacked up everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes. We started this because we saw a need for it in our part of town. Most of the work happens outside, setting things up in the sun or rain, but Mig 46 is where we keep everything organized. Or at least, we try to keep it organized. Usually, it’s just a lot of heavy lifting and making sure nothing is torn or broken. When people come by Laxmi Tent House, they’re usually planning something big, so it’s always interesting to hear what’s going on. We don’t have any slick brochures. We just talk to people and figure out what they need for their space. Being on Munugode Road makes it easy to get to different parts of the town. We’ve spent many late nights coming back from jobs, just tired and ready to sit down. The neighbors in the Housing Board Colony are used to seeing us moving stuff in and out by now. It’s just a regular local business run by people who live nearby. We don’t make things more complicated than they need to be. We are just here doing our job and helping folks with their events.
