Red Chilly is out here in Kallepally Village, which is part of Damaracherla Mandal. If you know the Lalbaug area, you know it can get pretty quiet around here, but we try to keep things moving. We started this because we liked the food we grew up with and thought people around the village would want a place to get something good to eat. It’s not a fancy restaurant with waiters in suits or anything like that. It’s just us in the kitchen, making sure the spices are right and the food is hot when it gets to you. The name Red Chilly came about because we don't hold back on the heat much. Some days are busier than others, especially when there’s something going on in the Mandal, but we manage. We spend a lot of time cleaning and getting ingredients ready early in the morning. It’s a lot of manual work. The building itself is simple, just like the rest of Kallepally. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. Sometimes we run out of things if the deliveries are late, which happens out here, but we make do with what’s available. It’s a local business, run by local people, and we’re just happy to be serving the community. You can find us easily enough if you're passing through this part of Lalbaug. It’s just honest cooking for regular people.
