Kala Bags Shop

Our shop is located at H. No-6-44 in the Puttapaka area of Narayanapur. It’s basically part of the house, which makes it easy to start work early in the morning. Kala Bags Shop is where we make and sell all kinds of bags for the local people. You’ll usually hear the sound of the sewing machines going as soon as you walk near the door. We have rolls of fabric and zippers piled up in the corners, and there is always some thread on the floor. It’s a small place, but we manage to fit everything in. People from around the village come in when they need something sturdy for carrying groceries or books. We don't have a big display window or anything fancy like that. Most people just know we are here because they’ve seen us working. Sometimes the power goes out in Narayanapur, and we have to stop the machines and wait, or do some hand-stitching by the window light. It’s a very local operation, and we take our time to make sure the handles won’t break. We aren't trying to be a big factory; we just like making things that people can actually use every day. If you stop by, you might see us cutting patterns on the big wooden table. It’s just simple, honest work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every single week of the year.
