Irigi Yallamma

Out here at H. No 3-89 in the Sc Colony of Bangarigadda Village, things move a bit slower than they do in the bigger towns. Irigi Yallamma is just what we do to get by in this part of Nalgonda. Chandur Mandal is a quiet place and our house is right there where everyone knows each other. We don't have a big storefront with lights or anything like that. People just come to the door when they need something. Most days are spent sitting on the porch or working in the small space we have for our things. It gets really hot in the summer and the dust from the road covers everything if we don't keep cleaning it. We’ve lived in this village for a long time, so we know all the families around the colony. Sometimes we have a lot of work and other times we just wait for someone to stop by. We don't do any fancy talking or try to act like we are bigger than we are. It’s just a local house doing local things. The kids play in the street outside and sometimes they make too much noise while we are trying to count things or organize the supplies. We try to keep our area tidy but with the wind blowing through the open door, it’s a bit of a losing battle. It’s just home and work all mixed into one for us here in the village.
