Gammon India Ltd,Civil Survey Engineer

Down here in Nalgonda, the heat can get pretty intense, especially when we are out doing surveys. Our setup is managed by M. Venkateshwarlu, and we’ve been part of the Gammon India framework in Andhra Pradesh for quite some time. The office is straightforward, located right in the 508001 zip code area. We spend a lot of our time looking at maps and checking levels. It’s technical work, but we try to keep the atmosphere in the office relaxed. There’s always a bit of dust from the roads, and the tea guy comes by twice a day which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We aren't a big flashy corporate office. It’s more about the individual tasks and the precision needed for the civil engineering side. We have some old desks and plenty of rolled-up charts tucked into corners. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it's dead quiet while everyone is out in the field. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t mind the sun. We’ve seen the town change a bit over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We just focus on the measurements and making sure the data is solid before it goes up the chain. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We usually eat our lunch in the small back room while listening to the radio. It's just a regular job and we try to do it right every day.
