Dwali Rice Cultivation

Out here in Kadapagandi Tanda, life revolves around the seasons and the rain. We’ve been working this land for a long time, and Dwali Rice Cultivation is basically just what we do to get by. It’s not like those big companies you see in the city. We are located in the Jangam area of Narayanapur, which is a quiet place most of the year. When it’s time to plant or harvest, everyone is out in the fields from sunrise. The dirt gets under your fingernails and stays there. We deal with the weather; sometimes it’s too dry and other times the monsoon is a bit much. It’s hard work, but there is something about seeing the green shoots come up through the water. We have a small office at number thirteen, but you won’t find us there much. Most of the time we are checking the irrigation or looking at the grain quality in the fields. The local people know us, and we know them. We trade and sell mostly to the nearby markets. It is a simple existence without any big corporate talk or complicated plans. We just want the crop to be good so we can pay the bills and start again next season. The roads out here aren't the best, so getting things moved to town takes a lot of time. We don't rush because nature doesn't rush either. It is just the way things go for farmers here.
