About Bujji Cattle Rearing – Agriculture & Farming in Nalgonda
Out here at 35, Kadapagandi Thanda in Jangam, things move at a bit of a different pace. Bujji Cattle Rearing is basically what the name says. We spend our days looking after the animals, making sure they’re fed and healthy. It’s not an office job by any means. Our clothes usually smell like hay and the outdoors, and our boots are rarely clean. There’s always a fence that needs fixing or a shed that needs cleaning out. We wake up early, usually before the sun is even fully up, because the cattle don't wait for anyone. It’s hard work, especially when the weather isn’t cooperating, like during the heavy rains when everything turns to mud. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just focus on the livestock here in the Thanda. People in the village know us and where we are. Sometimes the work is tiring, and your back aches by the end of the day, but there’s something good about being outside. We don’t use any big fancy machines, just a lot of manual labor and basic tools. It’s a simple life, really. We keep a close eye on the calves and make sure the feed is good quality. There’s always something to do, whether it’s milking or just checking the water troughs. It’s just us and the animals out here in Jangam, and we like it that way. It's a lot of responsibility but we are used to the daily routine.
