Aroor Laxmaiah Gupta & Sons

The shop is located at 6497, Station Road in Bhongir. It has been under the name Aroor Laxmaiah Gupta & Sons for many years now. Being so close to the station, we hear the trains coming and going all day and night. It is a busy part of town, and the street out front is usually full of rickshaws and people carrying luggage. We keep the shop open from early morning until late in the evening. The interior is quite traditional, with heavy wooden counters and shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a ladder to get things down from the top. It’s a bit of a family affair here, and you can usually find one of us sitting near the entrance chatting with someone. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a plain shop where we sell what people need. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass cases. There is a lot of history in these walls, even if it doesn’t look like much from the outside. People in Bhongir know where we are, so we don't really have to explain much. We just handle the daily business, talk to the regulars, and make sure the inventory is stocked up for the next day. It is steady work, and we are used to the rhythm of the trains passing by while we sort through our things.
