Anchitha Travels is based out of Shanthi Nagar. We’ve got our spot at H. No. 5-11-331/B. It isn’t much, just a place where we keep the logs and take the bookings. Being in the Town District means we see a lot of people coming through for different reasons. Some are heading to the city and some are just going to the next village over. The phone usually starts ringing early in the morning, sometimes before the sun is even up properly. We spend most of our time thinking about tires, oil changes, and petrol prices. It’s a bit of a headache sometimes, especially when the roads get bad after the rains. Telangana weather can be pretty rough on the vehicles, so we spend a lot of time cleaning out dust or making sure the engines don't overheat. We don't have a big staff or anything like that. It’s just us making sure folks get where they need to be. Sometimes we are driving ourselves and other times we are coordinating with the guys. It’s a lot of waiting around for passengers and then rushing to stay on time. You get to meet all kinds of people in this job, from quiet ones who just sleep the whole way to talkative ones who tell you their whole life story by the time you reach the destination. It keeps the days from getting too boring, even if the traffic is bad.
