Kamrupkamakhya Handicraft

Kamrupkamakhya Handicraft is based in Village Joshihati, which is near the Balavita post office. It is a quiet place compared to the big cities. We do most of our work right here in the village. It is a lot of manual work, using our hands to make the items. We do not have a big factory or loud machines. It is more about sitting down and taking the time to finish each piece correctly. The air is a bit fresher here than it is in town. We get our mail at the Balavita post, and the walk there is actually quite nice when the weather is good. Our workspace is pretty simple with wooden tables and a lot of raw materials piled up in the corners. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing team. It is just us and the work we do every day. Sometimes neighbors stop by to see what we are making. We use traditional ways of doing things that we have known for a long time. It is a slow process, but we do not like to rush it. The village is small, so everyone knows where we are located. We usually start working as soon as the sun is up and finish before it gets too dark to see clearly. It is a good way to live and work in Village Joshihati. We stay busy through all the seasons here.
