We set up this place in Ekangarsarai because this is where we live. Newgyashpur Readymade Garments Llp isn't some big factory with glass walls. It’s just Manoj Kumar and Rajesh Rout working out of Tola Mahaddipur. We started with just a few machines. People around here needed clothes that didn't cost a fortune but wouldn't fall apart. So we began making them ourselves. It gets really hot in the shop during the summer, but we keep going because the work needs to get done. The block is usually busy, and we are right in the middle. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common, and we have to wait before the sewing starts again. That’s just how it is. We don't have a fancy office. Most of the time, our hands are busy with fabric and reels of thread. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure someone in the village has a decent shirt to wear for a wedding or for work. If you come by Tola Mahaddipur, you’ll likely see us moving boxes or checking the stitching on a new batch. We know most of the faces around here. It's a small operation, really. Just a few of us trying to make a living and providing something useful. We don't spend money on big ads. Usually, people just hear about us from their neighbors. It works out fine. We keep the floor swept and the needles sharp every morning. That's about it.
