M.M.Alam & Associates

We've been running M.M.Alam & Associates here in Barh for a good while now. Our office is right near the Durga Mandir on Bazidpur Road. People around Patna usually know the spot because it’s a busy area. We mostly handle the day-to-day paperwork and legal stuff that folks need help with. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. Just a couple of desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of tea being drunk throughout the day. We stay pretty busy. Sometimes the road outside gets really loud with the traffic going towards the temple, but we’re used to it. Most of our clients come from nearby villages or the town itself. They just walk in because they heard about us from a neighbor or a cousin. We don't really do ads or anything. We just sit down, look at the files, and try to get the work done as quickly as the government departments allow. It can be slow sometimes, but that's just how things go. My nephew helps out with the typing, and we try to keep things organized, though papers do tend to pile up in the corners. If you're coming by, look for the big temple first, then we're just a short walk down the road from there. We usually open up early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down, or whenever the last person finally leaves. It's just local work for local people.
