Baba Harit Foundation

If you come down to Hasanpur in the Rajgir area, you will find us on the ground floor of Rina Kumari’s house. It is a pretty normal place, nothing fancy to look at from the outside. We started Baba Harit Foundation because we wanted to do something useful for the village and the post of Nahub. A lot of folks around here work in the fields or travel to the city for work, and sometimes things at home get neglected. We aren't some big organization from far away. Most of us grew up right here in these streets and went to the local schools. We saw that people needed a place to go when they had problems they couldn't solve alone. It might be health stuff or just needing help with some paperwork. We don't claim to have all the answers. Sometimes we are just learning as we go. It’s a lot of sitting around and listening to what the elders have to say about the village needs. Rajgir is a place with a lot of history, but the regular people living in Hasanpur have modern struggles too. We try to keep things practical. If there is a way to help, we do it. If not, we try to find someone who can. It’s just about being a good neighbor and looking out for each other in the community, day in and day out.
