Alok General Store

Alok General Store is located in Sevnan Village, which sits in the Jehanabad Tehsil area. We are quite close to the Court Station Jehanaba, so we see a lot of people coming and going from the trains. The shop is a simple spot where we keep the essentials. Life in the village is slow most of the time, but it picks up when a train pulls in. We have bags of sugar, lentils, and all the small stuff like matches and oil. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving sacks around or cleaning the front area. The shelves are made of wood and they’ve seen better days, but they hold the weight just fine. People from the village come in to chat as much as they do to buy things. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just this physical store in Jehanabad. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles or a small torch to find things for the customers. It gets hot in the summer and the fan barely does anything, but we stay open regardless. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It’s just honest work in a small corner of the district. We don't have any big signs, just the name Alok General Store and a lot of familiar faces coming through the door every single day.
