Sheth K. V. Govt. Higher Secondary School

This is a government school located in Nakhatrana, which is way out in the Kutch district. The landscape around here is quite dry, and the school building reflects that simple, sturdy style. Since it is a higher secondary school, we have older students who are preparing for their final exams and figuring out what to do next. The classrooms are basic with stone floors and large windows to let in the breeze, which is very necessary during the Kutch summers. We have a large open ground where we hold sports and various gatherings. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have any fancy decorations or expensive furniture. The focus is purely on the lessons and making sure the students from the 370615 area get their education. Many of our students come from the surrounding villages, sometimes traveling quite a distance to get here. The teachers use simple chalk and talk methods mostly. There is a small office where all the paperwork is kept in large metal cupboards. It’s a bit dusty because of the local terrain, but we sweep it out every day. We follow the government schedule strictly, so everyone knows exactly when the holidays and the exams are coming. It’s just a honest place where people work hard to get through their studies despite the heat and the wind.
