Jaagar

Jaagar is located out in Village Dhanpur Gosain, right near the Aampokhra Range of the Jim Corbett Reserve. It is a long drive from Ramanagar, and the road can be pretty bumpy depending on the season. I usually start the day by listening to the birds and sometimes you can hear other animals from the forest nearby. The village is very quiet, which is a big change if you are used to the city noise. We spend a lot of time just maintaining the property and making sure the paths are not overgrown with weeds. The buildings are simple and we try to keep them as clean as possible, though the dust from the reserve always finds its way in. There is no big shopping center nearby, so we have to plan our supply runs to Ramanagar carefully. The weather out here changes fast; it can be sunny one minute and pouring rain the next. We have a small kitchen where we cook simple meals, and that is usually where everyone gathers in the evening. It is a very grounded way to live and work, surrounded by trees and the sounds of the woods. Most of our work is just physical labor and making sure the guests have what they need without any fuss. When night falls, it gets incredibly dark, and you can see more stars than you ever thought possible.
