Bharat Himalayas

Our little office for Bharat Himalayas is located on Rampur Road in the Chandmoli area of Nainital. It’s a pretty easy place to find if you’re driving along that way. We’ve been here for a long time, so we’ve seen the road get busier and busier over the years. We aren't a big corporation with fancy uniforms or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who know the mountain roads well and try to help people get around. The office itself is quite basic, just some chairs and a desk where we do our bookkeeping and talk to the drivers. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the traffic outside, but we don't mind it much. We spend a lot of our time just chatting with people who drop in to ask about distances or road conditions. Since we’re right here in Chandmoli, we get a lot of people passing through on their way to other parts of the hills. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. It’s just a job and we try to do it right. The weather can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially in the winter when it gets really cold in the office, but we keep the heater going and stay busy. It’s a practical, local business and we’re happy to be part of the community here.
