We are located at Plot No. 71 in Sector 11 of the IIE SIDCUL area. This is a heavy industrial zone, so it’s all about machines and metal here. Our facility is where we put together various parts for cars and other vehicles. It’s a loud environment with the sound of presses and welding going on most of the day. We wear our safety gear and follow the shifts. It’s not a desk job. Most of us are on our feet on the factory floor. The heat can get pretty intense in the summer months, but we have big fans running to keep the air moving. We’ve got a lot of heavy machinery that needs constant maintenance. If a machine breaks down, the whole line stops, so we have a few guys whose only job is to keep things running. We aren't a small shop; the plot is quite large and we have different sections for stamping and then the assembly part. It’s all very methodical. We get the raw materials in and send the finished parts out to the bigger car companies. The roads around SIDCUL are always full of containers and workers on bikes. We have a small canteen where we all eat together during the break. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty, but there’s a sense of pride in seeing a finished assembly ready to be shipped out on the truck to the customers.
