Arjun Bisht & Sathi Foundation

Arjun Singh Bisht started this foundation with some friends. We are located on Jamrani Colony Road in the Damuwadhunga area of Haldwani. The foundation is called Arjun Bisht & Sathi Foundation because Sathi means friends, and that's really what we are. A bunch of people who grew up here and wanted to give back. Our setup is very basic. A space that’s part of a house on the colony road is what we use. It’s not a corporate office. There are always people dropping by for a cup of tea and a chat. That’s how we find out what’s actually happening in the neighborhood. A big strategy isn't something we follow. We just see a problem and try to fix it. Maybe a road is blocked, or a family needs some food, or a kid needs books for school. Everyone chips in what they can. Sometimes other people in the colony are asked to help out too. It’s a real community effort. Haldwani is changing fast, and we want to make sure the old spirit of helping each other doesn't disappear. Awards aren't something we look for. We just want to make sure our neighbors are doing okay. The Jamrani Colony Road is where we live and work. It’s home. Local guys doing what we think is right is our whole thing. It’s not complicated, just hard work and a bit of time.
