Western Coalfields Ltd.

Out here in Bhadrawati, Western Coalfields Ltd. is a big part of the local scene. We are located in Ekata Nagar at Quarter Number C/7. It’s a government-style setup, very typical for this part of the Chandrapur district. If you’ve ever lived in a coal colony, you know exactly what it looks like. It’s honest work, and the people living around here are mostly all connected to the mines in one way or another. We are part of the larger network that keeps things running in this region. The office is basically a house that we use for work, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a high-rise. We deal with the local logistics and the workers who come in from the nearby fields. Bhadrawati can get really hot in the summer, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans are working. We don’t have much in the way of fancy furniture. It's mostly just desks, chairs, and filing cabinets full of mine records. People stop by all the time just to chat or ask about their shifts. It’s a tight community in Ekata Nagar. We’ve been here long enough that everyone knows where C/7 is. It’s just how things are done here, no need for big signs or advertisements. We just do our bit to keep the local operations moving. It is a quiet life but the work is steady and keeps us all occupied.
