Tyre Boutique

Working with tyres at 185 Civil Lines means my hands are usually covered in black grease by the end of the day. Shastri Market is a very busy spot for all kinds of vehicles, so there is always someone needing a replacement or a quick check-up. We have been running Tyre Boutique for a while and we have seen all sorts of cars and old bikes come through our doors. It is a bit of a dusty job, especially when the wind blows through the market and kicks up the dirt. We stack the new tyres in the back and keep the old ones near the side for the disposal truck to pick up. It’s mostly just me and one other guy who knows how to handle the heavy lifting and the machines. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV or air conditioning. People usually just stand around outside or go get a coffee from the stall nearby while we work on their wheels. The tools are scattered around the workbench, but we know exactly where everything is when we need it. Some days are just filled with fixing punctures and doing balancing work, which takes a lot of time but has to be done right. We deal with various brands depending on what our suppliers have in the warehouse. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is.
