The Car & Refrigeration

It’s just us here at Lawa Kona, right by Navapara Chowk. If you look for the Kesharbai Masjid, we are right there. My dad started this because cars always break down and fridges stop cooling in this heat. We’ve got greasy floors and plenty of spare parts lying around. Sometimes it gets really busy and we can't answer the phone right away. We just fix what needs fixing. People from around here know us because we’ve been in this spot for ages. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a workshop. You’ll find old tools and bits of metal everywhere. Usually, the neighbor’s cat hangs out near the entrance. Navapara Chowk is a noisy place, but we like it. We deal with cooling systems mostly. It's tough work when the sun is beating down on the roof. I remember when we first got the sign put up. It’s a bit faded now but everyone knows what it says. We don't spend money on fancy uniforms or anything. Just plain clothes that can get dirty. If you're looking for us, just ask anyone near the masjid. They’ll point you to the right corner. We’ve seen cars of all types come through here. Some are easy to fix and some take all day. We just take it as it comes. It's a simple life. We close up when the work is done.
