We are out near the Wcl Coal Mines at the Kampty Colliery. This is the Nagpur district in Maharashtra, 441404. Our address is C/O Subhashree Adhikary. Being around the mines means there is a lot of dust and the sound of heavy machinery in the distance. It’s an industrial area, very different from a city center. Tata Power Company Limited has its presence here because this is where the action is. The office is simple, just what we need to get through the day. We have sturdy furniture because everything gets a layer of grit eventually. We drink our tea from steel tumblers and keep the files closed tight. The people working here are used to the rugged environment. We don't have any fancy art on the walls or soft carpets. It’s mostly concrete floors and metal shelves. It gets very hot in Nagpur, so the fans are always spinning at top speed. We see the mine workers and the trucks passing by all the time. It’s a hardworking part of the country, and we fit right in. We aren't here for the scenery; we are here to handle the business that needs doing. It’s a no-nonsense kind of setup. We just show up, do our thing, and go home when the sun sets over the colliery. There's a canteen nearby where we get lunch, usually something spicy to keep us going. The days are long but it's okay.
