Shri Shyam Lights

Our shop, Shri Shyam Lights, is located in the Shyam Arcade. We are in shop G-3, which is right on the ground floor facing Gangabai Ghat Road. It’s a very busy spot near the Telephone Exchange Chowk, so there is always a lot of traffic and people walking by. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just pop in when they see something they like in the window. We sell all sorts of lighting, from basic stuff for the house to more decorative pieces for parties and festivals. The shop is quite small, so we have boxes stacked up high and lights hanging from every part of the ceiling. It can be a bit overwhelming with all the different colors and styles, but we know where everything is kept. My family has been running this place for a while, and we’ve seen many businesses come and go in this arcade. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just show people how the lights look when they are plugged in and help them pick what they need. Sometimes the power goes out in the area, and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know many of our customers by sight because they live just a few streets away. It’s a busy life on Gangabai Ghat Road, but we enjoy being right in the middle of it all. We keep the shop open until late.
