Our shop, Shri Navdurga Medical And General Store, is located right on Aychit Mandir Road in the Mahal area of Nagpur. Being near the bus stop is quite helpful because people often realize they need something while they are waiting or just getting off the bus. We carry a bit of everything, from the medicines people need for their health to everyday general items like soaps or snacks. It is a busy spot, and the noise from the buses and the local traffic is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We open up early because that is when the first crowd starts moving around. The shop isn't very large, so things are tucked into every corner we can find. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific bottle or pack, but we usually know exactly where everything is hiding. We see a lot of the same faces every day, neighbors from around Mahal who have been coming here since we first started. It is a very local kind of life, talking to people about their day while we bag up their items. We don't have any big corporate rules, we just try to be helpful and keep the things people in this neighborhood actually need on a daily basis. It can get hectic when the bus drops off a big group, but we just take it one person at a time and keep moving.
