Shirdi Laminates

It’s usually pretty dusty back here behind the Gandhi Grain Market. Dealing with laminates means you’re always moving heavy sheets around and making sure nothing gets scratched. Our spot near the Telephone Exchange is easy to find if you know the area, but sometimes people get lost in the back alleys. We spend our mornings unloading trucks and stacking things up. It’s hard work on the back, but we’re used to it. Contractors come in looking for specific patterns or finishes for their projects. Sometimes they stay for a tea and talk about the weather. We don’t have a big fancy showroom, just the stacks of material and a small desk where we keep the books. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon and it gets a bit warm inside. We’ve been at No. 12 for years now. You get to know which brands are tough and which ones are just for show. It’s mostly about making sure the delivery goes out on time so the carpenters aren't waiting around. We don't do much besides keep the stock moving and help folks pick out what they need for their homes. If the phone rings, it’s usually someone asking if we have a certain color in stock. We just check the piles and let them know. It’s simple work but it keeps the lights on. It is just the way we run things daily.
